Zimbow Tower is the newest multifunctional building in Angola

Located in the capital of this country in southwest Africa, the 25 story building adopts the latest architectural trends by offering commercial and residential spaces. Vitro Chaves supplied all of the glass used on the facade using glass with esthetic, solar heat control and safety characteristics.

Comfort and privacy are guaranteed in the new building named Zimbow Tower which is an impressive multiple use structure located on Portugal Avenue in the central zone of Luanda, the capital of Angola.

The 25 story building includes four exclusive entrances, six modern elevators, twelve residential floors, six commercial floors, a bank, pool, a movie theater and more than 130 parking spaces. It also enjoys a spectacular view of the city.

Vitro Chaves– Indústria de Vidro S.A.,, Vitro’s subsidiary in Portugal focusing on offering solutions to the architectural glass industry, supplied all of the glass used in the building’s facade.

“In total we supplied 3,200 square meters of Multipact® Solarlux® 44.1 glass that fit perfectly to the project’s needs by offering the safety and solar light control properties it required”, comments Jorge Alberto Yarte, Commercial Director for Vitro Chaves.

He added that the type of glass installed, predetermined together with the customer, played an important role in the control of energy between the building’s interior and exterior by regulating the quantity of light and solar energy entering the interior.

“This type of architectural glass is a very useful regulator when seeking to avoid an excessive amount of solar energy in the structure’s interior and save on air-conditioning costs”, he explains.

Another key advantage of the selected glass is its safety. “In the case of shattering the glass sticks to the laminate film and does not allow any sizeable chunk to fall; it is important to emphasize its high degree of shatter resistance”.

Joaquin Duarte Chaves Alves, President of Vitro Chaves, is convinced that teamwork is the key to success in crystallizing high value projects for the benefit of all end users.

“This Project is a clear example of the robust business relationship, dating back several years, with our customer ASANFAR headed by Dr. Rui Quintas which has generated benefits both in Portugal and Angola, the latest market that day after day presents greater opportunities”, he assures us.
